Scholarships

At the University of Indianapolis, 88 percent of our students receive financial assistance in the form of scholarships, grants, student loans and part-time work. When you support scholarships at UIndy you are helping the University provide more than $18 million in scholarships to deserving students each year.

The university is pleased to work with you to create a new scholarship or to fund existing scholarship programs that will support UIndy's mission.

Annual Scholarships

Gifts of all sizes to the annual scholarship program make a big difference to our students. When you make a gift to annual scholarships, you help UIndy provide essential financial aid packages that could be the deciding factor for whether or not a student can attend UIndy.

Named Annual Scholarships and the Sponsor—a—Scholar Program

Those who wish to donate $2,500 or more will have the opportunity to create a Named Annual Scholarship and participate in the Sponsor-a-Scholar program. Supporting scholarships at this level offers you several opportunities.

Learn more about the Sponsor-a-Scholar Program.

Please Note: Named Annual Scholarships are effective for only one academic year. Continuation of the scholarship in the donor’s name requires an annual financial commitment.

Endowed Scholarships

By establishing an endowed scholarship fund with a gift of $25,000 or more, you can leave a legacy of support for future students at the University of Indianapolis. Donors who create an endowed fund have the opportunity to name the scholarship and help draft the selection criteria. Earnings from these funds are awarded annually to students who meet these criteria. In most cases, academic merit and financial need are requirements for these scholarships. The amount and number of awards may vary depending upon available funds. Thanks to the following endowed scholarships, current and future students can rely on financial support this year and for years to come.

Scholarship Recipient Snapshot- Katie Rowland

Katie Rowland and babyOn a recent service-learning trip to South America, Katie Rowland discovered what it truly means to make a difference. During the medical mission to Ecuador in conjunction with a local church, she and other UIndy nursing students set up a medical clinic to assist more than 800 people, filling about 1,500 prescriptions in four days of clinics. One patient was so touched by the care she received that she renamed her baby after one of UIndy's students! Katie found many ways to brighten the lives of those in need-confirming for her that she has, in fact, chosen the right career path. As a UIndy scholarship recipient, Katie is grateful that so many UIndy alumni and friends believe in her and her goal of becoming a nurse.
